Journal entries and AI-assisted features: Your journal entries remain private and are used solely to provide personalized journaling support, including prompts, reflections, summaries, and insights.

When you request AI assistance — such as generating responses, summaries, insights, or transcribing voice journal entries — the relevant content is securely transmitted to our AI service providers, OpenAI (for journal chat, summaries, insights, and embeddings) and Whisper (for audio transcription), acting on our behalf.

Depending on the feature you use, this may include:

• Journal text you submit
• Summaries and insight questions generated from your entries
• Date ranges used to generate insights across multiple entries
• Voice journal audio files for transcription

This data is transmitted securely via encrypted API connection only when you actively request these features.

We do not share direct personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or account credentials with these providers. The information is used solely to generate the requested functionality and is never used for advertising or marketing.

We maintain a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with our AI providers to ensure your data is handled in accordance with strict confidentiality, privacy, and security standards. User data submitted through these features is not used to train AI models and remains protected under these agreements.
